The Lower Limb Endovascular Symposium (LLES) was established in 2017 by Miss Kaji Sritharan and Professor Rob Hinchliffe in response to the lack of UK meetings dedicated specifically to evidence-based lower limb endovascular therapies.

From its inception, LLES has brought together clinicians with a shared interest in lower limb arterial disease and endovascular intervention, providing a forum to exchange experience, challenge current practice, and critically appraise the latest evidence to improve patient care.

Following a three-year interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LLES was successfully relaunched in Manchester in 2023, having previously been held in Birmingham. The symposium is now established as an annual event in the North of England. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the faculty whose continued enthusiasm, expertise and support have helped LLES grow since its inception.

The meeting has continued to evolve alongside advances in vascular practice. In 2024, LLES expanded to include the launch of LLES Deep Venous Therapies, and in 2026 we are delighted to introduce a dedicated Carotid Therapies session, reflecting the growing interest and innovation in this field.
