Klaus Overbeck is a vascular surgeon. He was formally IR trained by Sumaira McDonald and the IR team at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle.
He performs the whole spectrum of vascular interventional radiology, working as one of 9 vascular surgeons at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Trust. He is the lead of the complex EVAR program. Klaus is interested in the treatment of infraingional occlusive disease. His research is on the 2D/3D Fusion guided treatment of complex aorto-iliac occlusive disease especially the retrograde treatment of flush aortic occlusion.
Klaus is a founding member and sat on the council of BSET.
