Matt Bown is The British Heart Foundation Professor of Vascular Surgery. As an academic vascular surgeon at the University of Leicester he leads a multidisciplinary group of researchers conducting clinical research in vascular diseases from translational research, experimental medicine and applied clinical research. This is supported by current grant funding from the NIHR, BHF, EU and industry. He is Chief Investigator of the NIHR funded PHAST research programme that aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of population screening for peripheral arterial disease.
