Dr Lakshmi Ratnam is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at St. George’s Hospital in London which is one of London’s four major trauma centres. She performs a wide range of vascular and non-vascular interventions as well as diagnostic imaging. Her areas of special interest are lymphatic and vascular malformations, obstetric and gynaecological intervention, paediatric interventions, and salivary gland intervention.
She is an active member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and has served as the Chair of the BSIR Scientific Programme and Research Committees as well as a Subcommittee member for the European Congress of Radiology IR committee. She is currently a co-opted member of the BSIR Executive Committee. She is committed to teaching and education and is a Reader in Interventional Radiology with St George’s University, part of the Lymphatic Research team in the university and regularly supervises medical student projects and electives. Dr Ratnam is also a reviewer and on the editorial board for several highly respected journals.
