Daniel van den Heuvel is head of the department of Radiology and Interventional Radiologists at the St. Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein. He earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Amsterdam in 2001. After a two-year residency at the Vascular Surgery department in the St. Antonius Hospital he started his training as a resident Radiology in 2003 and was a fellow at the department of Interventional Radiology from 2009 until 2011.
His main interest is in the treatment of peripheral artery disease with a focus on Critical Limb Ischemia. Another interest is the diagnosis and treatment of Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformations in patients with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia.
As a staff member, he is involved in training residents in general radiology and is program director for residents Interventional Radiology in their 3rd – 5th year.
